This effort is dedicated to the fight we must all join: against breast cancer. We raise money to help those who need it most, when they need it most. We also help provide funds for support groups—large and small, national and local—such as Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Austin. Breast cancer attacks the most beautiful among us... our mothers, wives, sisters and daughters. Not to mention the great toll it takes on friends and families.

Breast cancer took my wife's life and forever changed mine. Shortly after Michelle passed away I was lost, functioning on reserves, as if by remote control. I wondered, "what good is there in this?"

That's when I called the Susan G. Komen Austin affiliate to see where I could join the fight. As a professional photographer, I offered my services at the annual "Race For The Cure." It was during a meeting with the director of the Austin affiliate that the idea of this work was born. As if guided by "Spirit," ideas began to flow resulting in the first book, The Smile Never Fades.
